Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 jar Dill Pickles, sliced into rounds or spears Use kosher dill pickles for extra flavor.
  • 0.5 cup Cornstarch
  • 2 large Eggs, whisked To bind the coating.
  • 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs Feel free to use gluten-free breadcrumbs.
  • Salt and Pepper To taste.
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic Powder For an extra kick.
  • 0.5 teaspoon Paprika Adds depth and color.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Drain the dill pickles and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  • Set up a dredging station with three bowls: place the cornstarch in one, whisked eggs in another, and mix panko breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika in the third.

Coating

  • Dip each pickle slice first in the cornstarch, shaking off any excess.
  • Then, dip it in the egg, followed by coating it thoroughly in the seasoned panko mixture.

Cooking

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Arrange the coated pickles in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they’re golden brown and crispy.
  • Carefully remove them from the basket and let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3-5 minutes to restore crunch. You can freeze the uncooked, breaded pickles; just air fry from frozen for additional cooking time.
