  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts Fresh and firm, choose medium-sized sprouts for even cooking.
  • 8 slices thick-cut bacon Ideal for wrapping, turkey bacon can be used as a healthier alternative.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Enhances flavor and helps the sprouts crisp up.

Seasonings

  • 1 teaspoon sea salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Adjust to taste.
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup Optional, adds sweetness.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any discolored leaves. Rinse and dry them thoroughly.
  • Cut each bacon slice in half. Wrap each Brussels sprout with a piece of bacon and secure it with a toothpick if needed.
  • Place the wrapped sprouts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle with olive oil, then sprinkle with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

Cooking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the bacon is crispy and the Brussels sprouts are fork-tender.
  • If using maple syrup, brush a little on the sprouts during the last 5 minutes of baking.
  • Let cool for a moment, then plate and serve warm.

Notes

For variations, try adding parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, or different types of bacon. Serve with a salad or grain for a complete meal.
