Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Brown the ground beef and diced onions in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Once browned, drain any excess grease.
  • Mix in ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.

Layering and Baking

  • Spread half of the beef mixture in a greased baking dish.
  • Layer with half of the cheese and pickles.
  • Repeat with the remaining beef mixture, followed by the last bit of cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  • Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Let the casserole rest for about five minutes before slicing to hold its shape better. You can also change the proteins or add toppings for a personalized twist.
