  • 1 cup Rice Brown or white rice complements the dish.
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese Optional but recommended for a gooey finish.
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil For sautéing the onions and garlic.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and minced garlic; sauté until golden and fragrant.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook until browned, draining excess grease if necessary.
  • Stir in salt, pepper, and paprika to infuse flavor.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the sautéed beef, cooked rice, and cream of mushroom soup.
  • In a greased baking dish, layer half the cabbage, followed by half the beef mixture. Repeat, finishing with a layer of cabbage.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle cheddar cheese (if using), and bake for an additional 10 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Notes

For variations, try ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, or add leftover veggies. This dish can be made ahead of time and stores well in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
