  • Gather your ingredients: Assemble all the fresh ingredients on your countertop.
  • Chop the herbs: Finely chop the parsley and the oregano, bringing them together in a mixing bowl.
  • Mince the garlic: Peel and mince the garlic cloves, adding them to the bowl with the herbs.
  • Mix the ingredients: Pour in the olive oil and red wine vinegar, stirring gently to combine.
  • Add spices: Sprinkle in the red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Taste, and adjust the seasonings as necessary.
  • Resting time: Let the chimichurri sit for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Try adding fresh cilantro for a different twist in flavor. A teaspoon of lemon zest can brighten your chimichurri. Adjust heat level by adding diced jalapeño or more red pepper flakes. For a richer sauce, blend in toasted walnuts or almonds.
