Ingredients
  

For the Burgers

  • 1 lb Ground beef (80/20) Juicy and flavorful; substitute with ground turkey for a lighter option.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Essential seasonings to enhance the beef flavor.
  • 4 pieces Sesame seed burger buns Feel free to use whole grain for a healthier option.
  • 4 slices American cheese Can swap for cheddar or a dairy-free alternative.
  • 1 cup Lettuce (shredded) Crisp romaine or shredded iceberg adds a refreshing crunch.
  • 4 slices Pickles Dill pickles are traditional, but sweet pickles can add a nice twist.

For the Big Mac Sauce

  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Relish
  • 1 tbsp Yellow mustard
  • splash White vinegar
  • 1 pinch Garlic powder
  • 1 pinch Onion powder

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients and chop the lettuce and pickles if necessary.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, relish, yellow mustard, and a splash of white vinegar. Stir in garlic powder and onion powder to taste.
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and pepper. Divide it into 4 equal portions and shape into patties, slightly larger than the buns.

Cooking

  • Preheat a grill or frying pan over medium-high heat and cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, adding cheese slices during the last minute to melt.
  • While the burgers are cooking, toast the sesame seed buns on the grill or in a skillet for about 1 minute until golden and warm.

Assembly

  • Start with a bottom bun, spread a generous amount of the Big Mac sauce, add shredded lettuce, a slice of cheese, and a cooked patty. Top with pickles and finish with the sesame seed top bun.

Notes

Store leftover patties in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. They can be frozen and reheated as needed.
