  • 9-12 sheets Lasagna noodles No-boil noodles work wonderfully if you’re short on time.
  • 1 pound Ground beef or turkey Opt for lean meat or substitute with black beans for a vegetarian twist.
  • 1 can Chili beans 15 oz can; look for a mix with spices for added flavor.
  • 1 can Diced tomatoes 15 oz can; fire-roasted tomatoes give a nice depth.
  • 1 medium Onion Use a sweet onion for milder flavor.
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced; fresh is best for that aromatic flavor.
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese Feel free to mix in cheddar or Monterey Jack for extra richness.
  • 2 tablespoons Chili powder Adjust according to your spice preference.
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Adds warmth to the dish.
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil For sautéing the onions and garlic.
  • Salt and pepper Essential for balancing flavors.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  • Add ground beef (or turkey) to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
  • Mix in chili beans, diced tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.

Assembly

  • In a large baking dish, spread a layer of the chili mixture at the bottom.
  • Cover with a layer of lasagna noodles, followed by a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese.
  • Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of chili topped with mozzarella.

Baking

  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and golden.
  • Allow the lasagna to rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Can freeze individual portions for up to 3 months. For reheating, microwave until hot or bake at 350°F (175°C) until warmed through.
