Ingredients

For the Burger Patties

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20) The ideal fat-to-lean ratio for juicy burgers. Substitute with ground turkey for a lighter option.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder Adds depth. Fresh garlic can be used for a more intense flavor.
  • 1 tsp onion powder Enhances the umami. Swap with finely chopped onions if you prefer texture.
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce Provides a tangy kick. Soy sauce works for a gluten-free version.
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika Gives that smoky flavor. You can omit it or replace it with regular paprika for a less intense taste.
  • 1 tsp black pepper To taste. Adjust according to your spice preference.
  • 1 tsp salt A fundamental flavor enhancer. Sea salt or kosher salt can be good alternatives.

For Assembly

  • Soft burger buns Choose brioche or whole grain for added flavor.
  • Toppings (lettuce, tomato, cheese, pickles, etc.) Customize based on your taste!

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Tip: Use your hands for mixing; this helps the ingredients blend evenly and results in a tastier burger.

Cooking

  • Divide the mixture into four equal parts and shape them into patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.
  • Preheat your grill or non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 3-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. Ensure an internal temperature of 160°F for safety.
  • Avoid pressing down on the patties while cooking to maintain juiciness.

Assembly

  • Toast the buns on the grill or skillet for added flavor.
  • Place a patty on each bun, followed by your choice of toppings. For extra flavor, melt a slice of cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking.

Serving

  • Serve your Crack Burgers hot with a side of fries or a fresh salad.
  • Pair with a craft beer or a refreshing soda for the ultimate burger night!

Notes

If you have leftover patties, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. You can also freeze uncooked patties, separated with parchment paper, for up to three months. For reheating, cook in a skillet on medium-low heat until warmed through, ensuring the burger stays juicy.
