Ingredients
  

Meatball Mixture

  • 1 lb Ground Beef (or Turkey/Chicken) Choose lean ground meat for a healthier option.
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs Substitute with gluten-free options if needed.
  • 1 large Egg Acts as a binder; use a flax egg or unsweetened applesauce for vegan option.
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder Can swap for minced fresh onion if preferred.
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder Fresh minced garlic works too.
  • 1 tsp Salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper Adjust to taste.

BBQ Sauce

  • 2 cups BBQ Sauce Use your favorite brands or homemade.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder until well mixed but not overworked.
  • Form the mixture into bite-sized meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them aside on a platter.

Cooking

  • Pour a layer of BBQ sauce into the bottom of your crockpot, covering it lightly.
  • Place the meatballs in the crockpot in a single layer. Pour additional BBQ sauce over the meatballs, ensuring they are well-coated.
  • Cover the crockpot and cook on low for about 6 hours or high for 3 hours, until the meatballs are thoroughly cooked and tender.
  • Once cooked, serve warm and enjoy with family.

Notes

Add a dash of cayenne pepper for a spicy kick. Serve in a sub roll topped with melted cheese for a meatball sandwich.
