Preparation

  • Start by shredding the green cabbage and carrots. Use a mandoline or a sharp knife for even shreds.
  • Dice the red bell pepper and slice the green onions.
  • In a large bowl, toss together the cabbage, carrots, bell pepper, green onions, and cilantro.

Dressing Preparation

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, honey, and minced garlic.

Combining Ingredients

  • Drizzle the dressing over the slaw mixture and toss well until everything is coated.
  • Top with toasted sesame seeds and give it a final toss.

Notes

Prepare the slaw a few hours in advance, storing the dressing separately to maintain the crunch. It can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; freezing is not recommended.
