  • 1 to 1.5 pounds thinly sliced roast beef Deli-style or leftover roast sliced thin for tenderness.
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese or provolone Melty and mild; use a dairy-free slice for a vegan twist.
  • 4 tablespoons butter Melted, to brush the tops for a glossy, golden finish.

For the Au Jus

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder A whisper of savory warmth.
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme Adds a subtle herbal note.
  • 1 small onion (optional) Thinly sliced and sautéed for extra sweetness.
  • 3 cups beef broth Low-sodium to control salt.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Deepens the umami; substitute soy sauce for a similar bite.
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch slurry 1 teaspoon cornstarch + 1 tablespoon water to thicken if desired.
  • sea salt and black pepper To taste.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Slice the slider rolls in half horizontally and lay the bottom halves in a baking dish.

Cooking the Au Jus

  • In a medium saucepan, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, a pinch of salt, pepper, and thyme. Bring to a simmer for 5 minutes.
  • If you prefer a thicker jus, whisk in the cornstarch slurry and simmer until slightly thickened.

Sautéing Onions

  • In a small skillet, sauté thinly sliced onion in a teaspoon of butter until translucent and golden. Scatter over the bottom halves of the rolls.

Assembling the Sliders

  • Pile thin-sliced roast beef evenly over the rolls, then top with a slice of cheese.
  • If you love extra melty cheese, broil for 1–2 minutes, watching closely.

Baking

  • Place the top halves of the rolls on, brush with melted butter mixed with garlic powder, and bake for 8–10 minutes until warm and slightly golden.

Serving

  • Pour the au jus into small dipping bowls and serve warm.
  • Enjoy the sliders warm and a little messy — exactly how memories are made.

Notes
