  • 12–16 slices deli ham choose thick-sliced for heartiness or low-sodium for a healthier option
  • 8–10 slices Swiss cheese or gruyere for a nuttier flavor

For the Glaze

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted for brushing
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard adds tang; substitute yellow mustard for a milder taste
  • 1 tablespoon honey balances the savory with a touch of sweetness; omit for a less sweet slider
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds optional, for a bakery-style finish
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder for savory depth
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley fresh parsley can be used for brighter color

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking dish with parchment for easy cleanup.
  • Slice the dinner rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom halves in the dish, arranging them snugly.
  • Layer the ham evenly over the bottom rolls, folding if needed to ensure each slider has a generous bite. Place Swiss cheese slices on top.
  • Place the top halves of the rolls over the cheese and press gently to maintain the slider structure.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, honey, poppy seeds, onion powder, and parsley. Brush this mixture generously over the tops of the rolls.
  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 2–5 minutes until cheese is bubbly and tops are golden.
  • Let the sliders rest for 2 minutes, then pull apart and serve warm.

Notes

For variety, try different cheeses or add roasted red peppers. Use whole-grain rolls for a healthier option. Sliders can be frozen pre-baked and reheated later.
