  • 1 pound Sausage (hot or mild) Choose your favorite flavor.
  • 4 cups Cabbage (chopped) Green cabbage adds crunch; can substitute Napa or savoy.
  • 2 medium Carrots (sliced thin) Can replace with bell peppers for variety.
  • 1 medium Onion (sliced) Yellow or white is preferred.
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce Use coconut aminos for a gluten-free option.
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced) Fresh garlic is ideal.
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger (grated) Fresh is best; can use ginger powder if needed.
  • 1 tablespoon Oil (neutral) Canola or olive oil works well for sautéing.

Cooking Instructions

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add the sliced sausage to the pan. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until browned and crispy.
  • Toss in the onions and carrots, sautéing for another 3 minutes until they start to soften.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for 30 seconds.
  • Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet. Pour in your soy sauce and stir everything together, cooking until the cabbage wilts and softens, about 5 more minutes.
  • Once cooked to your desired texture, remove from heat and enjoy!

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet over medium heat. For meal prep, chop the veggies and sausage ahead of time.
