Ingredients
  

Wonton Soup Ingredients

  • 1 package Wontons (store-bought or homemade) Can be filled with pork, chicken, or veggies.
  • 4 cups Chicken or Vegetable Broth Use low-sodium for a healthier option.
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger Adds warm spice to the soup.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced for fragrant broth.
  • 3 stalks Green Onions Sliced for garnish.
  • 1 cup Mushrooms Sliced shiitake or button mushrooms.
  • 1 cup Spinach For a pop of color and nutrients.
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce For seasoning.

Preparation

  • In a large pot, pour in the broth and bring it to a simmer over medium heat.
  • Add minced garlic and ginger into the pot and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Gently place the wontons into the simmering broth and allow them to cook for 4-5 minutes.
  • Toss in the sliced mushrooms and spinach, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until the spinach wilts and mushrooms soften.
  • Add soy sauce and stir. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  • Ladle the soup into bowls, topping with sliced green onions and perhaps a sprinkle of sesame oil.

Notes

Feel free to customize with your choice of proteins or vegetables. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
