Ingredients

Steak Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Ribeye Steaks (about 1 inch thick) for that perfect sear
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter because everything is better with butter!
  • 4 cloves garlic minced or crushed for a stronger kick
  • 1 handful Fresh thyme or rosemary for a herbal touch
  • Salt and pepper to taste; season generously
  • Optional: A squeeze of lemon juice for brightness

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by taking your ribeye steaks out of the fridge about 30 minutes before cooking to let them reach room temperature.
  • Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides.

Cooking

  • Place a cast-iron skillet or heavy-bottomed pan over high heat and allow it to get hot.
  • Add one tablespoon of butter to the hot skillet. When it begins to bubble, lay the steaks in the pan and cook for about 4-5 minutes.
  • Flip the steaks over once a nice crust forms. Lower the heat to medium and add the remaining butter, minced garlic, and herbs.
  • Baste the steaks with the melted garlic butter by tilting the pan slightly, and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes or until desired doneness.
  • Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest for about 5 minutes.
  • Slice against the grain, drizzle with garlic butter from the pan, and enjoy!

Notes

Use quality ingredients, get the pan hot, and don’t skip the resting to enhance tenderness and flavor. Adjust cooking times as necessary based on your equipment.
