  • 12 slices deli ham Thinly sliced for easy folding. Sub: turkey or roast chicken for a lighter option.
  • 6 slices Swiss or cheddar cheese, halved Melts beautifully between layers. Sub: provolone or dairy-free slices.

Toppings & Seasonings

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted Brushes the tops for a golden finish. Sub: olive oil for dairy-free.
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard Adds gentle tang. Sub: honey mustard for a sweeter note.
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds Optional classic bakery-style topping.
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce Deepens the savory flavor. Sub: soy sauce for a saltier kick.
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder Pantry-friendly flavor booster.
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder Pantry-friendly flavor booster.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking dish with parchment or lightly grease it.
  • Carefully slice the package of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping the top and bottom connected as a whole slab.
  • Spread Dijon mustard evenly across the bottom half. Layer the ham slices to cover the rolls.
  • Place the halved cheese slices evenly over the ham.
  • Replace the top half of the rolls, pressing gently to compact the sandwich.
  • In a small bowl, whisk melted butter with Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, and a pinch of pepper. Brush this mixture over the top of the sliders.
  • Sprinkle poppy seeds across the top.

Baking

  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 12 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 3-6 minutes, until the tops are golden and cheese is bubbling.
  • Let the sliders rest for 2 minutes before slicing into individual sandwiches.

Notes

For a deluxe slider, add a thin spread of pineapple jam. For a healthier option, use whole-grain rolls and lean turkey, and reduce butter. To add greens, include arugula leaves after baking.
