Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces chicken breasts (skinless and boneless) You can also use thighs for a juicier option.
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter Feel free to use olive oil for a healthier twist.
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped Thyme or parsley works wonderfully as a substitute, too!
  • 2 tablespoons fresh sage, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • pieces lemon wedges for serving Squeeze fresh lemon over the top for an extra zest!

Instructions

Preparation

  • Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper, ensuring each piece is well-coated.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.

Cooking

  • Once the butter is bubbling, add the minced garlic, rosemary, and sage to the pan. Sauté for about 1 minute.
  • Gently place the seasoned chicken breasts into the skillet. Sear for about 4–5 minutes on one side until beautifully golden.
  • Carefully turn the chicken over and let it cook for another 5–7 minutes, spooning the herb-butter over the top.
  • Cook until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Once cooked, transfer the chicken to a plate and allow it to rest for a couple of minutes.
  • Before serving, drizzle the remaining herb-infused butter from the pan over the chicken.

Notes

Feel free to get creative with this recipe! Variations include adding red pepper flakes for heat, using sundried tomatoes and olives for a Mediterranean twist, or incorporating orange zest for a citrusy flavor. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
