Ingredients

Chicken Ingredients

  • 2 large Chicken Breasts Juicy and tender, can substitute with chicken thighs.

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Honey Adds sweetness and richness.
  • 1/2 cup BBQ Sauce Use your favorite brand, or a sugar-free option.
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce Can substitute with tamari for gluten-free.
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Fresh garlic enhances the flavor.

Base Ingredients

  • 4 cups Cooked Rice White or brown rice works well; jasmine rice adds floral notes.

Garnish

  • Green Onions For garnish to add color and freshness.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and season them lightly with salt and pepper.
  • In a medium bowl, combine honey, BBQ sauce, soy sauce, and minced garlic to create the glaze.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of oil over medium heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Pour the honey BBQ sauce over the chicken. Stir gently to coat, allowing it to simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce thickens.

Serving

  • Fluff the cooked rice and serve it on a plate or in a bowl. Place the glazed chicken on top and drizzle with any leftover sauce.
  • Sprinkle chopped green onions over the dish for added flavor and color.

Notes

For added nutrition, toss in bell peppers, broccoli, or snap peas. For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes or hot sauce to the glaze. Serve as a grain bowl with toppings like avocado or black beans.
