Preparation

  • Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and sear for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic while the chicken is cooking.
  • Pour the honey garlic mixture over the chicken breasts, ensuring they are well coated. Reduce the heat to medium and cover the pan.
  • Let it simmer for another 10-15 minutes, turning the chicken occasionally, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the sauce thickens.
  • Remove the chicken from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing. Drizzle any remaining sauce over the top.

Notes

For added flavor, consider marinating chicken in the honey garlic sauce for an hour or overnight. Fresh ingredients like garlic and quality honey enhance the dish significantly.
