Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend) For that beautifully juicy burger.
  • 4 slices bacon The star of the show, bringing crunch and flavor.
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup Feel free to swap with agave nectar for a vegan version.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.
  • 4 pieces brioche buns Soft and buttery! Consider whole wheat for a healthier option.
  • Condiments of choice Mustard, ketchup, or homemade garlic aioli.
  • Optional toppings Sliced pickles, cheddar cheese, and fresh arugula.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the slices of bacon until crispy, about 6-7 minutes. Drain on paper towels and set aside, leaving about a tablespoon of drippings in the pan.
  • Divide the ground beef into four equal portions but don’t form into patties just yet.

Cooking

  • Increase the heat to high. When your skillet is hot, gently place a beef portion into the pan and smash it down with a spatula. Cook for about 3 minutes until a beautiful crust forms.
  • Carefully flip the burger, season with salt and pepper, and pour half a tablespoon of maple syrup over the top. Place a slice of bacon on each patty, and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes for that perfect medium-rare burger.
  • In the same skillet, toast the brioche buns for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

Assembly

  • Spread your condiments of choice on the bottom bun, place the burger on top, add two more slices of crispy bacon, and finish with any additional toppings you desire. Cover with the top bun.

Serving

  • Admire your creation and then dig in!

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat the patty in a skillet for about 5 minutes per side.
