  • 8 oz Thinly sliced roast beef Preferably from your favorite deli.
  • 4 slices Provolone or Swiss cheese Melts beautifully for that perfect texture.
  • 4 slices Sourdough or rye bread For a nice crunch when toasted.
  • 2 tbsp Butter For a crispy, golden finish.

Optional Toppings

  • 1 cup Caramelized onions For added flavor.
  • 1 cup Fresh arugula Adds a fresh touch.
  • 1 tbsp Horseradish sauce For a zesty kick.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  • Butter one side of each slice of bread.

Assembly

  • On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer the roast beef and cheese. Add any desired toppings.
  • Top with a second slice of bread, buttered side facing out.

Cooking

  • Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes until golden brown.
  • Flip the sandwich and cook for another 4-5 minutes until the other side is golden and the cheese melts.

Serving

  • Remove from heat, slice in half, and enjoy the melted cheese stretching as you pull the sandwich apart.
