  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup rice, uncooked Long-grain works best
  • 2 cups broth or water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Instructions
 

Cooking the Beef

  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  • Add the diced onion and cook until softened.
  • Stir in minced garlic and any additional seasonings.

Adding Rice and Sauce

  • Stir in the uncooked rice and canned tomatoes, mixing well.
  • Pour in the broth and bring to a simmer.
  • Cover the skillet and reduce heat, letting it cook until rice is tender, about 20 minutes.

Finishing Touches

  • Once rice is cooked, stir to combine, and serve topped with shredded cheese or green onions.

Notes

Feel free to add more vegetables or adjust seasonings to your taste. If the dish seems dry after browning beef, add a splash of broth.
