Instructions
Preparation
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Wash and core the apples, leaving the bottoms intact.
In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and nuts. Add vanilla extract.
Baking
Stuff each apple generously with the filling.
Top each apple with a small pat of butter.
Place apples in a baking dish and pour 1/4 cup water in the bottom.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, until tender.
Let cool slightly before serving.
