For the Casserole

  • 1 package (32 oz) frozen tater tots The star of the show!
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese Because cheese makes everything better

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grab a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  • Stir in the diced onion and bell pepper, cooking until softened—about 5 minutes.
  • Add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir well and let simmer for a few minutes.

Assembly and Baking

  • Spoon the sloppy joe mixture into the baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  • Arrange the frozen tater tots over the top, creating a beautiful, golden blanket.
  • Pop the casserole into the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes.
  • Remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  • Return it to the oven for an additional 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Once out of the oven, sprinkle with chopped parsley (if using) and let it cool for a few minutes. Then, serve.

Notes

Leftover Sloppy Joe Tater Tot Casserole can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes or microwave individual portions.
