  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar Adds a lovely tang.
  • a pinch cayenne pepper Optional for spice.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs to help flavors penetrate better and make the meat tender.

Make the Sauce

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together your barbecue sauce and apple cider vinegar until well combined.

Cook the Ribs

  • Place a rack of ribs inside the slow cooker, followed by a layer of your barbecue mixture. Repeat with the second rack, pouring the remaining sauce over the top.
  • Cover and set your slow cooker on low for 6 to 8 hours.
  • Check for doneness; the meat should easily pull away from the bone.

Serving

  • Carefully remove the ribs from the slow cooker and brush with a little more barbecue sauce.
  • For a smoky touch, finish them under a broiler for a few minutes.
  • Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before cutting into them. Serve with extra sauce on the side for dipping.
