Preparation

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and allow it to warm until it shimmers.
  • Add the diced onion to the skillet, cooking until it becomes translucent, then stir in the minced garlic.
  • Toss in the chopped cabbage, stirring well to coat it in the oil. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until softened.
  • Sprinkle salt, pepper, and a pinch of red pepper flakes (if using) over the cabbage and stir to combine.
  • Add the shrimp to the pan, stirring until they turn pink and opaque (about 3-5 minutes).
  • Give everything a final stir to mix thoroughly and adjust seasoning if needed.
  • Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy warm.

Notes

For variations, try adding diced bell peppers, carrots, or fresh herbs like parsley. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 1 month.
