Ingredients
  

For the Burgers

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20) For the juiciest burgers. Substitute with ground turkey for a lighter option.
  • 4 pieces hamburger buns A crusty ciabatta or soft brioche would work splendidly.
  • Salt to taste salt Essential for seasoning, don’t hesitate to add more!
  • Pepper to taste pepper Essential for seasoning.

For the Fiery Sriracha Mayo

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise This creamy base is perfect for our spicy twist.
  • 2 tablespoons Sriracha sauce Adjust according to your heat tolerance.
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice For brightness; lemon works well too.
  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro or parsley Optional; adds freshness and color.

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, Sriracha, and lime juice. Taste and adjust heat as desired.
  • Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and gently form them into loose balls.

Cooking

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  • Place each ball onto the grill and use a heavy spatula to press down firmly to create a flat patty.
  • Season patties with salt and pepper.
  • Cook for about 3-4 minutes until they develop a crust, then carefully flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes for medium-rare.
  • Toast the buns on the grill for about one minute until lightly toasted.
  • Assemble your smash-burger with the patty, Sriracha mayo, and any additional toppings you desire.

Serving

  • Serve warm with sides like sweet potato fries or a fresh salad.

Notes

Leftover burgers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. For reheating, use stovetop or grill on medium heat until heated through.
