Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs Juicy and flavorful; you can swap with breasts if preferred
  • 3 tablespoons sesame oil For that nutty essence
  • 4 tablespoons honey A touch of sweetness is essential
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce Use low sodium for a healthier option
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha or chili garlic sauce Adjust to spice preference
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced The aromatic base of any great dish
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced For a zingy kick
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions For garnish; they add both flavor and visual appeal

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, Sriracha, garlic, and ginger. Add the chicken thighs, coating them in the marinade. Allow this to sit for at least 15 minutes (the longer, the better!).
  • In a large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium-high heat.

Cooking

  • Once the oil is shimmering, add the marinated chicken to the skillet, letting it sear and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Pour the remaining marinade into the skillet. Bring it to a gentle simmer, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat the chicken beautifully, about 3-4 minutes.

Serving

  • Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions for that final touch of freshness and flavor.

Notes

Marinate longer if time permits, and ensure the skillet is hot before adding the chicken for a good sear. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
