Preparation

  • In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add diced onions and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  • Add the ground beef, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Stir until browned and cooked through, around 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in the sliced mushrooms and minced garlic, cooking until the mushrooms are tender—about 3-4 minutes.
  • Sprinkle the flour into the skillet and mix well for 1 minute.
  • Gradually add the beef broth, stirring constantly. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the sour cream and Worcestershire sauce until well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
