  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets You can swap spinach for a softer touch
  • 1 piece bell pepper, sliced Red or yellow for that pop of color
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil Or sesame oil for a nutty twist
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Aromatic and flavorful

For the sauce

  • ¼ cup soy sauce Use low-sodium for a healthier option
  • ¼ cup honey or brown sugar For that caramelized sweetness
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar To brighten up the flavors
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch To thicken the sauce

For garnish

  • sesame seeds and green onions Totally optional, but so pretty!

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by prepping your ingredients. Slice the flank steak thinly against the grain for tenderness, and chop your broccoli and bell pepper.
  • In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, honey (or brown sugar), rice vinegar, and cornstarch. Whisk until smooth and set aside.

Cooking

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the sliced flank steak, cooking for about 2-3 minutes until browned.
  • Toss in the minced garlic and stir for just 30 seconds.
  • Add the broccoli and bell pepper to the skillet, stirring everything together. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  • Pour in your teriyaki sauce mixture, stirring to coat the beef and veggies evenly. Cook for 2-3 more minutes until it bubbles and darkens.
  • Serve your Teriyaki Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry in bowls, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.

Notes

Feel free to modify: for a healthier option, substitute soy sauce with low-sodium; for vegetarian, swap beef for tofu; or add heat with red pepper flakes.
