Ingredients
  

Tuna Filling

  • 2 cans tuna in water, drained flaky and mild; packed tuna works too.
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise substitute Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard adds tang and depth; replace with yellow mustard for a gentler bite.
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped red onion bright crunch; use scallions if you prefer a milder flavor.
  • 2 tbsp sweet pickle relish or chopped dill pickles balances the richness with a sweet-sour pop.
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

Wrap Assembly

  • 4 large flour tortillas or whole-grain wraps choose gluten-free wraps as needed.
  • 4 slices cheddar or Swiss cheese melty and savory; try vegan cheese or nutritional yeast for a dairy-free twist.
  • 1 cup baby spinach or arugula adds freshness and a peppery note.
  • 2 tbsp butter or olive oil for toasting.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, flake the drained tuna with a fork and stir in mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped onion, relish, and a pinch of salt and pepper until well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning.

Assembly

  • Lay a tortilla flat and place a handful of spinach or arugula in the center.
  • Spoon about half the tuna mixture over the greens and spread it into a rough rectangle.
  • Top with a slice of cheese, making sure it covers the tuna.
  • Fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling, then roll it tightly into a wrap. Repeat with the second tortilla.

Cooking

  • Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and add a little butter or olive oil.
  • Place the wraps seam-side down and toast until golden brown and crisp, about 2–3 minutes per side.
  • Press gently with a spatula so the cheese melts into gooey bliss.

Serving

  • Remove from the skillet and let rest for a minute before slicing diagonally. Serve warm.

Notes

For a spicy twist, mix in a teaspoon of sriracha or chipotle in adobo. Store leftover tuna filling in an airtight container for up to 3 days, and prepare the tuna mixture a day ahead to let flavors meld.
